In their spiritual lives, many people find that at some point they reach a stage where their growth stagnates and they feel stuck.

And they hope there will be a breakthrough so that they can move forward with the Lord.

If this applies to you—if you’re stuck in your spiritual life because you’re having trouble believing something God has said, or because you have doubts, or because you realize there’s something standing in your way, an obstacle you simply can’t overcome on your own—then this prayer is for you.

The Prayer:

Dear Lord,

I am coming to you. I set out on this journey with you, and now I am standing here because I don’t know what to do next, because I can’t go any further. I ask you to intervene. I ask you to remove this obstacle.

I ask you to grant me insight and clarity about what the problem actually is, so that I can resolve the issues that need to be resolved, and so that you can help me through this.

I ask you to take away my doubts and give me faith. I ask you to teach me the right way and show me where the problem lies that is keeping me from moving forward here.

Lord, I ask you for a breakthrough so that I can continue on with you. I don't want to stay here; I want to move forward with you and enter into all that you have prepared for me.

And I ask you to help me now. I ask you to give me a new “push” so that I can move forward in faith, with you.

I ask you to intervene now. Lord, I am here empty-handed. I don't know what to do next, but you can help me—and that is what I ask of you.
